Abstract

This essay questions the possibility of integrating, as an inherent part of the construction of the object, research on the conditions of possibility of ethnographic and historiographic discourses themselves. Based on an exercise connecting intellectual history as a field and method of research in the humanities with the uses of Geertzian ethnography as a critique of the intellectual history forged by the Cambridge School, we review how various authors affiliated with this intellectual universe constructed the conceptual groundwork that allows us to formulate questions of this nature, ultimately articulating them with the methodological proposal of Héctor Jaquet, a leading figure in history and social anthropology in Misiones epistemological proposal of Héctor Jaquet, a leading figure in history and social anthropology in Misiones.
