This article proposes an approach around environmental problems and natural disasters, and how they influence the appearance of foodborne diseases and zoonoses, from a health approach. For this, the problems of floods are investigated with the case of Quilmes (2001), the destruction of wetlands and other disaster such as the earthquake and tsunami from Chile (2010). These examples, considered rapid and slow disasters, have a great influence on food safety, and therefore generate risks to society. Likewise, a general investigation is carried out on the loss of biodiversity in wetlands as a cause of zoonotic diseases. The results show the importance of dealing with disasters, slow and fast, from a unified approach to health, in order to prevent different diseases. which are considered slow disasters.
