Football teaching and masculinities: analysis in two clubs in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche

Abstract

This article presents part of the results of investigation about football teaching and masculinities in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. It stands out that there are differences in the teaching of football in both clubs inquired, according to the influences given by their experiences and the club´s sociability. In the ´Arco Iris´ club motor conducts linked to a tradicional perspective are taught interlaced with masculinities conceptions joined to the job´s discipline. On the other hand, in “Vuriclub” they come close to analternative perspective focused in masculinities as gentleman code and fair play.
In both clubs, male hybrids prevail, which rid themselves of macho behavior and preserve other traditional stereotypes that incorporate diverse and even contradictory elements in the service of patriarchal domination in this sport. There is evidence of a greater openness towards multiple masculinities, beyond the gender inequalities that still persist.

Fabián Horacio Martins, Universidad Nacional del Comahue

Es Magíster en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades y Licenciado en Ciencias de la Educación por la Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. Profesor de Educación Física por el Instituto de Educación Física "Dr. E. Romero Brest". Actualmente se desempeña como docente en la Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Sede Bariloche, en las materias "Deportes de Conjunto 1", "Didáctica de la Educación Física", y "Filosofía y Epistemología de la Educación Física". Sus líneas de investigación se orientan al campo de las Ciencias Sociales y la Educación Física, integrando equipos multidisciplinarios. Es ponente en congresos nacionales e internacionales y cuenta con diversas publicaciones y artículos en revistas especializadas en la materia.
