Abstract

In order to try to understand the current economic situation and the recurring crises in Argentina, we have to look closely to the architecture of international grain trade established with the implementation of neoliberal policies. The large agro-exporters took the opportunity to integrate themselves both vertically and horizontally, acquiring an unprecedented role. In addition, the Statere frained from intervening in marketing and control, an anomalous behavior compared to its recent history.

From the privatization of the port elevators, it will be exposed how the "free market" modified the chain of production and commercialization of cereals and oilseeds at a national level, impacting the entire agro-export chain and the actors involved.
