Abstract

With the creation of the Nicaraguan Council of Science and Technology in 1995, the discussion on science policy and public policy on science and technology has gradually been incorporated into the agendas of the different academic, productive, economic, scientific and technological sectors. Science and technology policy in Nicaragua is driven and standardized under two national policy instruments: the first "National Science and Technology Plan" created in 2010, and the "National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy of Nicaragua" (2011 - 2030). Both reference documents represent a before and after for the nascent national strategies and planning, in terms of science and technology policy.
