Abstract

This article exposes the way in which Terry Eagleton resorts to Catholic theology in order to breathe a renewed interpretation of the philosophical-anthropological presuppositions of Marxism. In particular, it addresses the way in which Eagleton appeals to the doctrine of Creation in search of arguments that allow him to strengthen a critique of instrumental reason predominant in capitalism, and how he develops foundations for a marxist ethic from there.
