Abstract

As of 2016, Argentina modified its policies on access to public information (API) throughout the enactment of its first law on the subject and the adoption of an open government data plan. Among other features, these tools affect the availability of public affairs information, one of the main inputs of the journalistic field's actors. As part of a research project on the variation in the availability of public information in Argentina between 2015 and 2018 and its impact on the news media's production, this paper presents a literature review about the reporters' use of API instruments and the presence of this type of source in the news contents.
